TITLE:  Substitute Athletic Trainer

TYPE OF POSITION: Contingent (as needed); 2025-2026 school year; salary $45/hour

LOCATION:  Middle & High Schools, Hopkinton, Massachusetts

The LTS Head Athletic Trainer works directly with students and helps with the maintenance, assessment, rehabilitation, and evaluation of student-athletes’ health, injuries, and other medical conditions.  Work hours will vary by week, and include night and weekend work.  The Head Athletic Trainer reports to the principal(s) and the Athletic Director, and supervises/evaluates the work of the Assistant Athletic Trainer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Board Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and Commonwealth of MA Licensure (LATC);
2. First Aid and CPR Teaching Certification;
3. Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution, Master's Degree preferred;
4.  Experience working with adolescents;
5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent or Athletic Director may find appropriate and in conformity with state licensure requirements.

DUTIES:

1. Oversees operation and maintenance of Athletic Training Room;
2. Serves as the primary resource for referrals, injury assessment, and on-site attention for student-athletes;
3. Assists with injury prevention and rehabilitation for student-athletes;
4. Recommends purchase, maintenance, and repair of equipment and supplies, as deemed appropriate;
5. Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which activity is conducted or students are located at all times that members are present;
6. Serves as first respondent for all home athletic events when the need for medical attention arises;
7. Serves as site manager for various home athletic events;
8. Serves as adjunct staff member of both Wellness and Athletic Department programs.
9. Other duties, as assigned.
