Job Overview

This role is a technical electronic communications, security, and computer network role in providing technical design, support and user assistance to such equipment used in LCPS facilities. The Technical Security Engineer is responsible for providing technical services, guidance, and direction in all areas of communication and security network design, installation, maintenance, and use. The Technical Security Engineer serves as the primary technical advisor to subordinates, providing technical assistance and support as needed.

 

 

Roles and Responsibilities

The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; work may differ and other work may be assigned when deemed appropriate.

  • Provides oversight and support for security camera systems.  Troubleshoots and resolves security camera system network hardware and software problems.
  • Perform regular system health checks and proactive maintenance to ensure system reliability and uptime.
  • Advises and provides direction to onsite technicians troubleshooting/repairing hardware and software issues.
  • Develops and distributes maintenance procedures for security camera systems 
  • Provides technical support and training to end-users and other technical staff on security camera system operation and maintenance.
  • Stays up-to-date with the latest security camera technologies, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including IT, facilities, and security personnel, to understand requirements and implement solutions.
  • Assists in the evaluation and selection of new security camera equipment and technologies.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant security policies, regulations, and standards.
  • Manages and configure video analytics and intelligent features within the camera systems.
  • Participates in the planning and execution of system upgrades and expansions.
  • Travels to various site locations as required for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

 

Qualifications

Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable.

 

     Education

     Associates degree in in electronics and experience in servicing security camera systems

 

     Experience

  • Three years of experience troubleshooting and resolving malfunctions with Technical Security systems
  • Experience with security cameras and AI systems designed for video surveillance
  • Experience designing, installing, and maintaining security camera systems
  • Experience in project management

 

     Licenses and Certifications

     Appropriate security and communications certifications required; including Genetec Security Center

 

     Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of communications network systems, hardware, software, and associated equipment and devices
  • Excellent human relations and communications skills

Salary Level: Scale B/ Universal Level 12

Salary Range: $36.11 - $46.66
