A vacancy will exist for the 2025-2026 school year for a 1 year LTS Lead Teacher within the Norristown Area School District located at Marshall Street Elementary School.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Elementary School Level Certification
- At least three years of teaching experience working with Elementary School age students
- Spanish speaking is preferred
- Possesses a thorough knowledge of the operation of an Elementary School
- Knowledge of budgets and ability to monitor budget processes
- Strong organizational skills and strategic planning skills, pro-social collaboration, communication and planning skills, and technology skills
- Ability to be flexible, self-directed, and motivated
- Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with staff and students
- Ability to do job responsibilities with minimal supervision and ability to schedule time to meet deadlines
- Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI
Duties & Job Responsibilities:
- Assists the principal in protecting the welfare of all students
- Resolves discipline problems in a fair and just manner, maintaining records of all disciplinary action taken
- Assists with individual, or groups of, students and when necessary may make referrals to other school personnel specifically designated to handle special problems
- May make recommendations through the principal for appropriate revisions of school rules affecting the students' lives in the school
- Assists the principal and attendance personnel in solving attendance problems of mutual concern to teachers and students. The principal shall resolve issues
- Responds to student-initiated requests for specific non-curricular activities or programs developed within the guidelines established by the principal
- May perform, upon direction of the principal, other non-supervisory, non-curricular activities related to the welfare of the students: such as, calling or writing to parents regarding the behavior and/or attendance of the student
- Serves as a communications link between the high school and the District attendance office for the purpose of monitoring student attendance problems
- Utilizes the District's Student Code of Discipline and Responsibilities, and, in a supplementary way, assists the guidance personnel by providing with the data concerning students who need counseling to implement behavior modifications
- Performs other job related duties as assigned
