Job Overview
The Part Time School Security Officer may be assigned to schools throughout the district as needed. The Part Time School Security Officer works directly with the Division of Safety and Security and the local school Principal to help provide a safe environment for all students, staff and visitors. The Part Time School Security Officer assists the Principal in all things safety and security including school regulations regarding conduct. An employee in this position will respond to complaints of losses of personal and school property, and deter trespassers from school property. The Part Time School Security Officer relates well and communicates with students, school staff, and the school community.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, climb, stoop, kneel, bend and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or tools; reach with hands and arms and see and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and may be required to lift up to approximately 50 pounds.
The employee must have the ability to drive and navigate to multiple locations. An employee in this position will require the ability to be mobile around school hallways and grounds on a daily basis. Sufficient vision is needed to be able to observe students and trespassers up to 100 yards away.
