  • Exceptional benefits packages to all employees serving at 50% time. Staff have the choice of many HMO/PPO medical plans including several that require no employee contribution for full family coverage. CUHSD contribution of up to $1,558.07 - $3,802.79 monthly ($17,138.77 - $41,830.69 annually) for full-time employees' medical, dental and vision. Contribution levels vary by full-time equivalent status. [pro-rated]
  • We pay for the induction program fees for all teachers who need to clear their credential (not to include any credentialing fees).  [pro-rated]
  • We honor up to 13 years of verified certificated teaching experience outside the District toward salary placement.
  • One-time Bilingual (Spanish) signing incentive of up to $2,000 for new hires [determined via online testing] to be paid out after two months in the District. [pro-rated]
  • One-time student loan repayment assistance incentive of up to $1,000.00 upon providing documentation of a positive student loan balance. This incentive is available for the first 20 eligible new hires.  [pro-rated]

General Description

Under the general direction of the principal, and in coordination with the curriculum department, the International Baccalaureate Coordinator coordinates, implements, communicates and evaluates all aspects of the IB program for incoming 9th through twelfth grade students. The coordinator must develop, implement and maintain the IB Diploma program with fidelity according to IB regulations. 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Facilitate the accreditation process; serve as lead in the development of the accreditation documents
  • Facilitate IBO visitations; serves as liaison for IBO office and consultancy
  • Assist staff in preparing curriculum for IB courses
  • Provide and facilitate staff development activities, to coordinate and implement the program
  • Serve as a resource for department chairs on curricula and program requirements
  • Communicate regularly with district and site administration; coordinate presentations, including presentations made to the board of trustees
  • Provide IB-related counseling service to students and parents as to appropriate class placement
  • Coordinate all IB-related communications/public relations information; including presentations for parents, middle school recruitment and community outreach
  • Assist in hiring, training and scheduling of teachers with regards to IB
  • Meet with parents of all anticipated diploma candidates annually
  • Articulate regularly with guidance department with respect to IB requirements, student placement, IB pathway options, university admissions
  • Communicate regularly with IB teaching staff, administration and the IBO offices to ensure smooth coordination of program

 

Example of Duties

 

  • Prepare a calendar of academic and examination deadlines, especially Extended essays, World Literature essays, face to face oral examinations, Theory of Knowledge and Internal Assessments and monitor time line implementation; monitor and adapt curriculum, program and procedures based on future International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) program or regulations changes
  • Attend regional and national IB conferences
  • Monitor and disburse IB budget for examination materials, publications, proctoring services, and IB professional development; collect IB exam fees; submit fee reduction applications and communicate with business dept. on budget procedures
  • Facilitate examination process, including but not limited to organizing the examination session in May with regard to location, scheduling, and proctoring
  • Ensure all IB students are properly registered for exams; manage and communicate results to families and universities
  • Supervise Theory of Knowledge course and diploma candidates and Creativity, Action, Service (CAS) program
  • Maintain all IB student and staff records including updating IB statistics
  • Coordinate IB teacher training workshops
  • Responsibilities beyond normal school hours on occasion
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigne

Education and Experience

 

  • Valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential in a core subject area, combined with a minimum of three to five years of successful teaching experience

 

  • Experience teaching/working in an IB program preferred
